Steve Fogen

Steve Fogen (born September 28, 1979 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a former Luxembourg cyclist who was active on the road and in cyclo-cross races.

Athletic career

Steve Fogen began his career at UC Dippach , a member of which he remained throughout his career. He won his first race as a junior in 1997 in Kopstal . In 1998 he started for the first time for the national team of Luxembourg, he was 38th in the Tour of Slovakia . In 1997 he became the Luxembourg cyclocross champion in the junior class, three years later in the U23 class. On the road, he became the national time trial champion in the same year . In 1999 the Games of the Small States of Europe were played in Luxembourg. In the road race there, Fogen won ahead of his compatriot Christian Poos . At these games in 2001 he was again third in the road race and second in the time trial. In 2000 he won the national time trial championship. He mainly competed in races in France and temporarily joined a French club (in Nogent-sur-Oise ), where he also lived temporarily. In national championships he achieved a few more podiums on the road and in cross-country races.

He later drove for the French team Cofidis as a stagiaire . The following year he won two stages at the Flèche du Sud and the Chrono Champenois time trial . In 2002 he was successful on a stage of the Spa Arden Challenge and was also third in the overall ranking. In 2007 Fogen drove for the Luxembourg Continental Team Differdange and in 2008 for the Professional Continental Team Preti Mangimi . In the following years he occasionally competed in various age group competitions.
