Marc Vanacker (born March 29, 1976 in Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourg cyclist .
Athletic career
Marc Vanacker started cycling with SaF Zéisseng. He took his first victory in a race in April 1991 in Diekirch . In 1993 he finished third in the national junior championships. After graduating from high school, he temporarily went to France to study. During this time he started for the club VC Pontivyen .
After completing his studies, he became a professional with the Swiss Post Swiss Team in 2001 . In his first year he won the French one-day race Prix d'Armor . He also finished 26th in the Grand Prix des Nations time trial . In 2002 Vanacker moved to the Marlux-Ville de Charleroi cycling team . Here he won the time trial of the Luxembourg road cycling championship. His last successes were third places in the 2003 national championships in time trial and road racing. In the same year he ended his cycling career.

Marc Vanacker studied sociology in Rennes , France . After his sporting career, he worked as a journalist for the newspaper La Voix .
