Fredrik Kessiakoff
Fredrik Carl Wilhelm Kessiakoff (born May 17, 1980 ) is a former Swedish cyclist .
Career
Fredrik Kessiakoff devoted himself to mountain biking at the beginning of his career and was eight times Swedish champion in MTB disciplines between 2001 and 2008. At the Mountain Bike World Championships 2006 in Rotorua , New Zealand , Kessiakoff won the bronze medal in the cross country race.
In parallel, he joined in 2000, the road cycling - Team Crescent on, for he went for three years. In the 2005 season he was second in the third section of the Ringerike Grand Prix . At the Giro del Lago Maggiore in 2006 he made it to second place behind the winner Giairo Ermeti . At the end of the season he drove for the British Professional Continental Team Barloworld as a stagiaire .
In 2009 he became a member of the UCI ProTeam Fuji-Servetto and focused on the road. In the 2011 Tour of Austria , he won the second stage with the mountaintop finish at Kitzbühel Horn and thus celebrated his first international solo success. He was able to defend the lead he fought for here until the end of the tour and thus also achieve his first victory in a stage race . With his two victories in the individual time trials of the Tour de Suisse 2012 and the Vuelta a España , he was able to win races in the UCI WorldTour for the first time .
After two years without a win, Fredrik Kessiakoff ended his career at the end of 2014.
