Valter Bonča (born March 17, 1968 in Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian cyclist . His greatest successes were winning the Tour of Austria and Slovenia - but he was never able to win a day in these stage races .

Career

In addition to his professional career, he also competed in public races . In the early 1990s, for example, he succeeded in winning two Ötztal cycling marathons in 1993 and again in 1994 . In 1993 he drove the Giro d'Italia and was there 35th in the overall classification, a year later he gave up the race.

In 2000 he won the Slovenian road racing championship. Bonča competed at the Summer Olympics twice, in 1988 in Seoul and 1992 in Barcelona (1988 for Yugoslavia ). However, he did not manage to place himself in the top ranks either in the road race or in the team time trial.

After his career he opened a bicycle shop in Idrija , where he also lives.
