UCI ProTour 2005

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UCI ProTour 2005 was the first edition of the UCI ProTour , a series of the most important cycling races in the world.

In spring, the eventual winner Danilo di Luca had already gained a clear lead in the overall standings with successes in the Amstel Gold Race and the Walloon Arrow , as well as overall victory in the Tour of the Basque Country . While di Luca and overall runner-up Tom Boonen collected points, especially in spring, Davide Rebellin was able to improve to third in the last race, the Tour of Lombardy .

Due to its consistently good placements, Team CSC was able to secure the team ranking . The Gerolsteiner team was sixth as the best German team.
