Iñigo Landaluze Intxaurraga (born May 9, 1977 in Getxo ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Athletic career

Landaluze has been a professional athlete since 2001 and was under contract with the Basque cycling team Euskaltel Euskadi . In 2005 he surprisingly won the UCI Pro Tour cycling race Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré . A doping control during this race showed an increased testosterone level . Landaluze was acquitted by the Spanish cycling federation responsible for the doping procedure, on July 4, 2006 the international cycling federation laid down (UCI) appealed against the acquittal to the international sports court, which was unsuccessful for formal reasons, contrary to the rules, A and B samples were examined by the same laboratory employee.

Since then, Landaluze has not been able to achieve any significant successes. After repeated positive doping tests for erythropoietin analogue CERA at the Dauphiné Libéré in 2009 and a little later during training, Iñigo Landaluze was again banned from the international cycling federation. Landaluze did not deny the offenses, took full responsibility for them and denied the involvement of other drivers or the team. After his suspension, he did not contest any other professional races.
