Leif Hoste (born July 17, 1977 in Kortrijk ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Athletic career

After Hoste won the U23 version of Omloop Het Volk in 1997, he turned pro in 1998 with the Vlaanderen 2002 cycling team - Eddy Merckx. He was considered a strong time trial and won the Belgian time trial championships twice and, thanks to his victory in the final time trial in 2006, the three days of De Panne . At the first edition of the Eneco Tour in 2005 , he was third in the overall classification.

At the end of the 2012 season he ended his career as a professional cyclist. After the end of his career, he was given a two-year doping ban because of irregularities in his biological passport .
