Cinelli Down Under
Cinelli-Down Under was a cycling team under Belgian management that took part in international cycling races under different names from 2001 to 2009 .
The team was founded in 2001 as Team Down Under and was called Team cyclingnews.com-Down Under in 2003 . In 2005 and 2006 she participated with a British license as a Continental Team under the names Team Cyclingnews.com (2005) and DFL-Cycling News-Litespeed (2006) in the UCI Continental Circuits , and there mainly in races of the UCI Europe and Oceania Tour . In 2007 the team had the status of a Professional Continental Team .
With the help of the new sponsor Pedaltech , the team of the then General Manager Nick Collins was to be expanded considerably. For this purpose, Steffen Wesemann and Bas Giling . Committed. The Union Cycliste Internationale , however, refused the license as a Professional Continental team for 2008.
In 2008 and 2009 the team drove again as a Continental team, this time with an Australian license. It was initially called Cyclingnews-Jako and the year after Cinelli-Down Under . Since 2010 the team has not been licensed by the Union Cycliste Internationale .
The manager was the Belgian Gilbert De Weerdt. Most recently Rudi Dubois, Eddy De Weerdt and Nico Mattan were at his side as sporting director . The sponsor Cyclingnews.com is an English-language cycling internet service, Cinelli an Italian bicycle manufacturer and JAKO a German sporting goods manufacturer.
