Afton Williamson (born 1985 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American actress .

life and career

Afton Williamson was born in Toledo, Ohio, USA. After finishing school, she attended Eastern Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts . She also won an award at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival .

Williamson has been an actress since 2010. She initially made guest appearances on television series such as Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , before playing the character of Helen Walker in three episodes of the highly acclaimed first season of the series Homeland in 2011 . As a result, she was able to make other guest appearances, u. a. in The Following and Elementary , also get recurring roles, such as Makena in Nashville or from 2014 to 2015 as Alison Medding in the Cinemax series Banshee - Small Town.
