UCI track world championships 1949
The 39th UCI Track World Championships took place from August 22 to 28, 1949 on the Velodrome in Ordrup near Copenhagen . It was the eighth time that Denmark hosted a World Track Championship. The cycling track from 1888 was made of cement, 370 meters long and was completely renovated for this World Cup. However, it was criticized that it was not suitable for the standing races because of its flat design.
Four years after the end of the Second World War , no German starters were allowed to compete in the World Cup.
