The boys' choir Hösel is a choir of boys and young men from the Adolf-Clarenbach-Church in Ratingen-Hösel . Members are pupils in the 2nd to 13th grade . The main task of the choir is to create church music in the Adolf Clarenbach Church.
The choir's repertoire includes European vocal music from all eras. The artistic focus is the regular performance of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the church year as well as the maintenance of literature for the boys' choir and organ .
prehistory
In 1989, Toralf Hildebrandt, the cantor of the Protestant parish of Hösel, founded a mixed children's and youth choir under the name of Jugendkantorei Hösel. Concerts and concert tours led the youth choir in the following years in churches in Germany, Europe and North America. In 2007 Hildebrandt converted the youth choir into a pure boys 'choir , the Hösel boys' choir .
Concert program
The choir regularly participates in the services of the Evangelical Parish Hösel in the Adolf-Clarenbach-Church with musical contributions. Traditionally, a number of theme-related motet services with the choir take place there every year.
Annual concerts are a spring concert in the Adolf-Clarenbach-Kirche Hösel, a summer concert in the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Ratingen- Mitte, a concert to commemorate the days of Repentance and Prayer in the Neanderkirche Düsseldorf , a Christmas concert in the Dumeklemmer- Hall in Ratingen. The choir also undertakes concert tours in Germany and abroad.

- CD series "Engelschöre"
Cantor Toralf Hildebrandt and composer Gerhard Rabe from concertino musikverlag started the edition of this CD series in 2009 in order to track down long forgotten “pearls of choral music”. They found what they were looking for primarily in southern Germany , France and England . The first CD in the series with the title "Engelschöre Vol. 1" was released in 2009, Vol. 2 followed in 2010.

- The Scale of Success - A Boys Choir in New York
A team from the TV station center.tv accompanied the boys' choir on their concert tour to New York in July 2011 for 10 days . The film was broadcast for the first time in 2011 on the television station's Christmas program and shows the choirboys performing at St. Patrick's Cathedral , at a meeting with the New York Fire Department , and at a meeting with jazz musician Theo Bleckmann .

Pentecost 2010, the boys' choir traveled Hösel for a series of concerts after Rome and created there a church service in St. Peter's Basilica , a concert at the Benedictine monastery of St. Anselmo and gave to the end of the journey whit a private concert in the Sistine Chapel . A team from the television station center.tv accompanied the C hor on this trip and recorded the impressions in the 60-minute television report “The picture must be right - A boys' choir in Rome”.
- 30 boys in unison - the Hösel boys' choir on tour
WDR reporter Sabine Wagner accompanied the boys' choir for more than 6 months in 2009. The result is a 45-minute report about the work of the choir, which has already been broadcast several times on Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and other public television channels. The film shows the boys' choir on a European tour in London , in a lighthouse project of the state government of Düsseldorf with a rock band in Düsseldorf Central Station, and takes a look at the everyday life of the choir members.
