SATB

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SATB (more rarely SCTB ) is a frequently used abbreviation for the usual line- up of a four-part singing ensemble ( choir or soloist ) with the voices soprano (soprano) , alto (contralto) , tenor (tenore) and bass (bass) . There is also a bar every now and then . ( Baritone ) instead of B, and then it's SATBar. In baroque music there are all five voices (SATBar.B). All voices can be occupied by one or more singers.

SATB is the usual cast in Baroque , Classical and Romantic oratorios in works from the 17th century to the modern day.
