Voting group

A vocal group consists of musicians who play or sing the same voice in a choir or orchestra and usually also in the same pitch . Making music in vocal groups is a prerequisite for choral breathing .

Examples of vocal groups

The most important vocal groups in mixed choirs are:

• soprano
• Old
• tenor
• bass

In string orchestras, the following vocal groups are most common:

• First violins
• Second violins
• Violas
• Cellos
• Double basses

In larger orchestras, the winds also play in vocal groups.
