Sky Over Holland is a 1967 Dutch short film directed by John Fernhout .
action
The film shows the Netherlands with shots from the air, on land and on water, panning repeatedly to the cloud formations in the sky. You can see the canals and a carillon, the cattle, flower and cheese market, windmills and boats as well as winter sports with ice skaters and ice sailing . This is followed by recordings of a church visit, the fishermen at sea, the port and air traffic as well as the Netherlands in autumn. Images of handicrafts such as glass blowing are shown, as well as the production of postage stamps with the motif of the queen. This is followed by aerial photographs of flower fields, which bring colored patterns into the landscape, as well as pictures of the hustle and bustle.

Sky Over Holland was created for the Dutch pavilion at Expo 67 in Montreal , where it was shown on a 20-meter screen. The recordings were made with an MCS 70mm , a 70mm panorama camera.
