Friedrich Otto Meyer (born November 4, 1882 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; † in the 20th century) was a German racing cyclist .

Meyer was the son of the factory worker and later railway employee Heinrich Meyer. Against his father's wishes, Otto Meyer dropped out of school and began training as a mechanic. At first he raced as an amateur, and since 1899 as a professional . In 1908 he took second place in the German sprint championship , and won the title the following year. In 1911 he became the unofficial sprint world champion in Dresden (due to conflicts with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the Association of German Cyclists held its own world championships that year). In 1910 and 1914 Meyer, who also worked as a wrestler and was called the "fat Otto", was third in the German sprint championship.

There are contradicting versions of his further fate: On the one hand, Otto Meyer is said to have been taken prisoner in France during the First World War and has been missing since then. On the other hand, it is reported that Meyer emigrated to the United States after the war . According to more recent findings, Meyer is said to have been politically active in Schifferstadt in 1923 and campaigned for the independence of the Palatinate . Meyer's racing bike, on which he became “World Champion” in 1911, is still owned by his club, RC Friesenheim .

He was married to Elisabeth Rossmann from 1902 until the divorce in 1917, and one of the couple's children had been born in 1901.
