Busoni Composition Prize
The Busoni Composition Prize was donated by Aribert Reimann in 1988 and is a prize to promote the next generation of composers. It is named after Ferruccio Busoni .
It is the only prize of its kind awarded by the Berlin Academy of the Arts . Every two to three years, a jury made up of department members from the Music Section of the Akademie der Künste selects the two young prizewinners, who are still unknown to the public. The prize is endowed with 6,000 EUR, the sponsorship award with 2,500 EUR, this goes to composers who are still in training.
