Pierluigi Billone

Pierluigi Billone (born 1960 in Italy ) is an Italian composer . He studied with Salvatore Sciarrino and Helmut Lachenmann .

Career

For his works he received the Composition Prize of the City of Stuttgart (1993), the Busoni Composition Prize of the Akademie der Künste Berlin (1996), the Vienna International Composition Prize (2004), the Ernst Krenek Prize of the City of Vienna (2006) and was awarded with awarded the composition prize of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation in Munich (2010).

Pierluigi Billone was visiting professor for composition at the Graz University of Art from 2006–2008 , at the Frankfurt University of Music in 2009 , and from 2010 to 2012 again at the Graz University of Art.

He is regularly invited as a lecturer to give composition courses and guest lectures, including: IEMA-Ensemble Modern Akademie 2008, Harvard University 2010, Columbia University New York 2010, MCME International Academy Russia 2011, summer courses Darmstadt 2010, 2012, 2014, Impulse Akademie Graz 2011, 2013, 2015, Tzlil Meducan Israel 2011, 2014, 2015, MCIC Madrid 2015, 2016, Boston University 2015, New York University 2015, Composit-Rieti 2015, 2016.
