Samuel Dumoulin (born August 20, 1980 in Vénissieux ) is a former French cyclist .
Career
Dumoulin turned professional with Jean Delatour in 2002 . He achieved his first international success that year with a stage win at the Tour de l'Avenir . In 2003 he won the overall ranking of the Tour de Normandie , the semi-classic Tro Bro Leon and two stages of the Tour de l'Avenir.
He then drove for Ag2r , where he was under contract until 2007. During this time he achieved his first victory in a UCI ProTour race with a stage win at the Critérium du Dauphiné . He also repeated his victory at Tro Bro Leon in 2004, was French road champion in 2005 and won the Route Adélie in 2006 .
After Dumoulin moved to Cofidis in 2008 , he became the winner of the third stage of the Tour de France 2008 out of a four-man breakaway group , which is his greatest success of his career. At Cofidis he won numerous other races, including a total of three stages of the Tour of Catalonia in 2010 and 2011 and the overall ratings of the stage races Étoile de Bessèges and Paris-Corrèze .
After that, Dumoulin returned to Ag2r La Mondiale in 2013, for which he won six international one-day races and two stages of international races by 2017 .
At the end of the 2019 season, Dumoulin ended his active career at the age of 39 and became Sports Director at Vital Concept-B & B Hotels .
