Alain Van Lancker

Alain Van Lancker (born May 15, 1947 in Paris ) is a former French cyclist .

In 1968 Alain Van Lancker started with the French four-scull at the Olympic Games in Mexico City in the team pursuit , which, however, could not place. In 1969 he turned professional and preferred to compete in six-day races ; he started at 78 and won a total of eight. Patrick Sercu (1973 in Cologne), Klaus Bugdahl , Peter Post and Jack Mourioux were among his partners . He also won a French title twice, in 1969 in the Omnium and in 1973 in the standing race . In 1971 he was third in the European Derny Race Championship .

  1. The European championships before the founding of the "European Cycling Union" (UEC) in 1995 are considered unofficial, since up to that point they were usually invitation races in which non-European riders could also take part.
