Aad van Amsterdam (born May 4, 1915 in Zoeterwoude , † October 3, 1978 in Leiden ) was a Dutch cyclist .

Aad van Amsterdam was a professional from 1936 to 1949 . Until the early 1940s, he mainly denied criteria in his home country. In 1941 he was the Dutch runner-up in both road and standing races , after having finished third in the standing group in 1940. In 1944 he became the Dutch master of the stay.

Because of his black hair and dark eyes, van Amsterdam was nicknamed De Zigeuner .
