Edwin Newman
Edwin Newman (born January 25, 1919 in New York City , † August 13, 2010 in Oxford ) was an American journalist , author and television presenter .
Life
Newman attended George Washington High School in New York City and graduated from the University of Wisconsin . During the Second World War he worked for the US Navy and after the war he worked for CBS News on the radio program and then as a freelance reporter for NBC with foreign assignments. From 1961 to 1984 Newman worked as a television presenter on the television program NBC News for the US television station National Broadcasting Company . Newman also wrote several books as an author. He was married to Rigel Grell. In 2007 he moved to Oxford to live near his only daughter.
