From 2009 Marc Frossard was active as an ice hockey player at EHC Biel , 2013/14 at HC Neuchâtel-Futur and most recently at HC Ajoie . From 2014 he was part of the junior squad of the Swiss national ice hockey team . At that time Frossard was a hobby cyclist. When he lost interest in ice hockey, he switched to cycling. Because of his training as an ice hockey player, he was competitive quite quickly.
In July 2015, Frossard contested his first race as a track cyclist on the Oerlikon Open Race Track in Zurich . In 2016 he finished third in the Swiss sprint championship , and the following year he became national champion in this discipline. In 2018 and 2019 he was three-time Swiss champion in sprint, keirin and 1000-meter time trial .
At the beginning of June 2020, Marc Frossard announced his retirement from competitive cycling due to persistent back problems. In addition, he worked part-time alongside cycling and saw no chance of making contact with the international top.
