Albert Büchi (cyclist)

Albert Büchi (born June 27, 1907 in Winterthur ; † August 1988 there ) was a Swiss cyclist .

Albert Büchi, for whom RV Winterthur started, belonged to the first guard of Swiss professional racing drivers in the early 1930s. In 1931 he was Swiss road champion and third in the championship in Zurich . In the same year he was third at the UCI Road World Championships in Copenhagen and ninth overall in the Tour de France . Büchi started the tour three more times. In 1932 he was eleventh, in 1933 13th and 1934 17th. In 1937 he finished his cycling career with a third place in the Swiss road championship.

In 1933 he finished second in the overall ranking of the Tour de Suisse, which was held for the first time, 9:01 minutes behind the Austrian Max Bulla .
