Hubert Seiz

Hubert "Hubi" Seiz (born August 23, 1960 in Arbon , TG ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

In 1981 he won the Swiss Mountain Championship; after finishing second two years earlier. As an amateur, he was able to win the Hegiberg Tour in 1980 , took part in the Olympic Games in Moscow that same year and finished 35th in the road race. In 1980 and 1981 he won the Grand Prix Winterthur .

In the following years Seiz was able to place himself as a professional (1982-1989) in numerous races: In 1982 he again won the Hegiberg Tour and the Tour du Tannenberg and took 2nd place in the championship of Zurich , which he was able to repeat in 1984 . In 1983 he decided the 7th stage of the Tour de Suisse for himself and was third in each of the Flèche Wallone and Liège – Bastogne – Liège . In 1985 he won the 4th stage of the Giro d'Italia and in 1986 he won the Giro dell'Emilia . At the UCI Road World Championships in 1984, he finished fourth.

In 1988, Seiz became the Swiss road racing champion.

Today Seiz is a driving instructor (car and motorcycle) in Uttwil and WAB moderator at the Driving Park in Winterthur.
