Alexandre Moos (2009)

Alexandre Moos (born December 22, 1972 in Sierre ) is a former Swiss cyclist who was active on the road as well as a mountain biker and cyclocross driver.

Cycling career

Moos became a professional with the Saeco cycling team in 1996 . After an interlude at Festina in 2001, he joined the Swiss Phonak Cycling Team . In 2002 he won a stage of the Tour de Suisse and shortly afterwards became Swiss champion in road racing . In 2004 Moos won the third stage of the Tour de Romandie in the sprint against Leonardo Piepoli and teammate Tyler Hamilton and in 2005 the one-day race Grand Prix of the Canton of Aargau in Gippingen ahead of Jan Ullrich . Thus he achieved his greatest successes on Swiss soil; especially the Tour de Romandie he mostly competed very successfully. In 2004 he took over the yellow jersey of the leader after his stage win, and between 2002 and 2006 he was always in the top eight of the overall standings. He was able to achieve podium positions in six stages of the race.

In 2007 Moos switched to the BMC Racing Team , but was unable to achieve any international success there and ended his career as a road driver in June 2010, but still competed in mountain bike races for two more seasons.
