Thomas Wegmüller

Thomas Wegmüller (born September 28, 1960 in Bern ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

In 1985 Thomas Wegmüller won the Giro del Mendrisiotto . The following year he became the Swiss master of the amateurs on the road. In 1987 he turned professional, won the Grand Prix Lugano and 1989 the Grand Prix de Wallonie . In 1988 he was second at Paris – Roubaix . In 1990 he took first place in the Bern Tour , in Rund um den Henninger Turm and in the Grand Prix des Nations . In 1991 he took third place in the last edition of the Trofeo Baracchi , in 1992 he took second place in the Tour of Flanders . In the same year he became Swiss road champion and also won the Grand Prix Brissago .

Wegmüller took part in the Tour de France three times . From 1985 to 1993 Wegmüller competed nine times as a member of the Swiss national team at road world championships .

In 1994 Thomas Wegmüller resigned from active cycling. He has been running a bike tour company in Cyprus since 1995.
