Erwin Jaisli

Erwin Jaisli (born January 28, 1937 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Erwin Jaisli started cycling in 1956. In the same year he qualified for what was then the A class of amateurs in Switzerland. In 1958 he was able to win the national title in the team time trial with his club RV Höngg and was national champion of the amateurs in road racing . In addition to other races, he was also able to win the Northwestern Switzerland Tour . He started at the UCI Road World Championship and finished the race in 53rd place. In the following year he finished ninth at the World Championship and was able to win the Ticino Tour. In the balance sheet of the Swiss amateurs, he won first place in the annual ranking, which he also achieved in 1960. He won the Zurich championship in the spring of 1960. That year he also started at the Summer Olympic Games in Rome and finished the street race in 12th place. Four years later he was again a participant in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo and this time was 30th at both Games he also competes in the team time trial. In country tours he was able to win stage victories in the Tour of Austria and the Tour de l'Avenir .

Jaisli is (as of 2019) Honorary President of the Höngg Cycling Club.

Erwin Jaisli completed an apprenticeship as an administrative employee.
