Heinz Imboden

Heinz Imboden (born January 4, 1962 in Bleienbach ) is a former Swiss cyclist . In 1983, Heinz Imboden became the Swiss amateur road racing champion . In the same year he won the silver medal in the team time trial with the Swiss team ( Benno Wiss , Othmar Häflinger and Daniel Heggli ) at the Road World Championships in Altenrhein . In 1983 he also started in the road race of the World Cup and was classified as 37th. In 1984 he started in the street race of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , but did not place. In the same year he won the Circuit des Ardennes . Imboden was a professional from 1985 to 1996 . In 1985 he finished third in the Swiss road racing championship, and in 1986 he won the Grand Prix Guillaume Tell . In numerous races he finished in the top ten; In 1989 he won the Giro del Lago Maggiore and in 1995 the Giro del Trentino . He started three times in the Tour de France . At the Tour de Suisse in 1991 he won two stages (the first and the third), at the Tour de Suisse in 1992 he was tenth and in 1994 he was fourth in the overall ranking of the Swiss Tour.

Today Heinz Imboden runs a company in Spiez that builds wooden houses.

Honors

In 1983 Heinz Imboden was voted Swiss Team of the Year together with Wiss, Häflinger and Heggli after their second place at the Road World Cup .
