economy
The Bleienbach economy is shaped by the MDC Max Daetwyler AG company. This company has been developing and building systems for mold production in gravure and flexographic printing since 1965. There are therefore far more jobs in Bleienbach than people of working age.
Airfield
The Langenthal airfield is located in the Bleienbach community. It is operated by the Oberaargau regional association of the Swiss Aero Club ; Since May 2007 it has also had a 500 m long and 18 m wide paved runway.
The first grass runway and a hangar were built in 1934/35 by the Aero Club Langenthal with financial support from the Federal Directorate for Military Airfields. In World War II a Fliegerkompanie Bleibach was temporarily stationed; Before and after the war, the airfield was primarily used for sports aviation (motorized and glider planes), but also as a base for sightseeing flights. In 1951 the Max Dätwyler company settled at the airfield and opened an overhaul and repair company there, which from 1956 also manufactured aircraft parts (specifically for the Mirage program ). In 1982 the company Airla Flugzeug Service was added.
