Since the Middle Ages, the area of Ochlenberg was under the Kyburgers and belonged to the Egerden court district. In 1406 the village came under Bernese rule and was assigned to the Bailiwick of Wangen. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798), Ochlenberg belonged to the district of Wangen during the Helvetic Republic and from 1803 to the Oberamt Wangen, which was given the status of an official district with the new cantonal constitution of 1831.

Attractions

In the various hamlets of Ochlenberg, characteristic farmhouses in the Bernese country style with warehouses and sticks from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved.
