Peter Eggenberger (historian)
Peter Eggenberger (* in the 20th century) is a Swiss historian and art historian .
Eggenberger completed a degree in general history, Swiss history , art history and literary history at the University of Zurich . In 1970 he received his doctorate there with a paper on Emil Welti's influence on the Federal Constitutional Review of 1874. Since then Eggenberger has worked as a private archaeologist and building researcher in the Middle Ages and modern times throughout Switzerland and in neighboring countries. He was a member of the Federal Commission for the Preservation of Monuments and an expert at the Federal Office of Culture , Section Heritage Protection and Preservation of Monuments. He published numerous (scientific) writings (books and specialist articles) on archaeological and historical topics such as the exploration of cities, churches and castles. Among other things, he started evaluating archaeological studies of the city of Willisau on behalf of the Canton Archeology of Lucerne and published a two-volume publication on the city's history.
