Francis Blanc

Francis Blanc (* 26. September 1938 in Collonges ) is a former Switzerland he cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Blanc began cycling in 1958. In 1960 he qualified for what was then the A-class for amateurs in Switzerland by winning the Yverdon Street Prize . In 1961 he was a participant in the street race of the UCI World Championships in Bern . The following season he won the national championship in the street race of amateurs. He also won the Tour of Northwestern Switzerland and was again at the start of the World Championship and the Tour de l'Avenir . In 1963 he obtained an independent license so that he could also take part in professional driver races. He got a contract with the Italian team Cynar. In 1964 he was able to win the long-distance journey from Pruntrut to Lausanne . For Team Salvarini with Vittorio Adorni as team boss, he started the Tour de France in 1965 and finished 79th in the overall standings. He was also on the tour for the next two years, but could not take a place in the front.

Professional

Blanc completed an apprenticeship as a banker.
