The cycling world championships or cycling world championships , more precisely UCI world championships or in English spelling UCI World Championships are a generic term for several world championships in cycling , which are held by the World Cycling Association UCI in seven cycling disciplines.

If the term “cycling world championships” is used for short in common usage, it mostly refers to the UCI road world championships ( road races and individual time trials and team time trials ).

  3. At the Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships in 2002, the Four Cross replaced the Dual discipline , which had only started two years earlier .
  4. The first BMX World Championships were held in 1982 under the direction of the Fédération Internationale de BMX . From 1985 the International Amateur Cycling Federation FIAC was responsible. It was not until 1996 that the BMX World Championship ran under the name of the UCI.
