Mountain bike world championships 2002
The 15th Mountain Bike World Championships took place from August 28 to September 1, 2002 in the Austrian town of Kaprun . They were promoted together with the nearby town of Zell am See as part of the European Sports Region Kaprun – Zell am See .
A total of 17 decisions were made in the disciplines of Cross Country , Downhill , Four Cross and Trials . The slope was the Maiskogel , with the infrastructure of the Kaprun – Maiskogel ski area .
The investments amounted to about 60 million schillings . The event was a success, the International Cycling Association UCI awarded the World Cup finals 2003-2005 to Kaprun immediately after the event. But only that 2003 was held there.
