Brian Thomas Lopes (born September 6, 1971 in Mission Viejo , California ) is a professional mountain biker from Mission Viejo, California.

As a child, Lopes started BMX racing. At 17 he turned pro and was a BMX Pro Class rider for seven years. He has been a professional mountain bike rider since 1993, where he focuses on the dual and 4 cross disciplines . In addition to a total of 6 World Cup victories and 4 world championship titles , he won numerous other major races and was national champion nine times. Brian Lopes won the World Extreme Sports Awards for "Mountain Biker of the Year" in 2000 and 2001 and was nominated for the MTB Hall of Fame . In 2008 he was inducted into the Mountain Bike and BMX Hall of Fame after winning more than 15 titles in his cycling career.

Lopes was sponsored by GT Bicycles , Oakley , Bell, Marzocchi , Shimano , Kenda, Easton, Hayes, Sun Ringle, Fizik, ODI & MRP in 2007. Ibis has been its bike sponsor since 2008.
