Mountain bike world championships 1990

In October 1990 , the 3rd Mountain Bike World Championships were officially the first to be held under the flag of the UCI World Cycling Association in Durango , Colorado , after unofficial world championships had taken place in the previous two years. In the men's race, Peter Hinterlang, Jörg Huttenlocher, Mike Kluge , Volker Krukenbaum, Robert Martin, Uli Rottler, Lutz Schäfer, Jürgen Sprich, Wilfried Straub and Johannes Zacherl competed. Viola Borgmeier, Susi Buchwieser and Regina Stiefl were the German participants. A total of six decisions were made in the cross country and downhill disciplines. From a German point of view, the best placings were Susi Buchwieser's 4th place in the women's cross-country race, Uli Rottler's 4th place in the senior cross-country race and Jürgen Sprich's 9th place in the downhill race the gentlemen.
