Daniel Schnider

Daniel Schnider (born November 20, 1973 in Hasle ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Athletic career

From 1992 Daniel Schnider raced as an amateur; from 1996 to 2005 he was a professional. During this time Schnider drove around 1000 races, with 14 wins, including four Swiss championship titles: as mountain champion (2000), as road champion (2003) and twice with the VC Pfaffnau team.

In 1997 Schnider won the Australian race Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic . From 2000 to 2001 he was with the Française des Jeux team , rode with her in the Tour de France in 2001 and was 66th in the overall standings. In 2000, 2004 and 2005 he started at the Giro d'Italia . In 2003 he was third in the overall ranking of the Saxony Tour . In 2001 he also won the Zurich Six-Day Race with Matthew Gilmore and Scott McGrory .

Professional

After finishing his active cycling career in 2005, Schnider ran a bicycle shop in Wolhusen and worked as a mental trainer . Among other things, he offers fire walking seminars. As a hobby, he continues to compete in cycling races such as the 24-hour race in Schötz , which he won in a team of three in 2010 and 2011 and in which he also holds the record of 1018 kilometers.
