Jan Bárta (born December 7, 1984 in Kyjov ) is a Czech cyclist .

Athletic career

Bárta was Czech U23 road racing champion in 2003. He received his first professional contract in 2005 with the Austrian Professional Continental Team Elk Haus-Simplon . In 2007 he moved to Team Union RC IVP / RCA Tyrolia ; from 2010 he drove for the German team NetApp . In 2012 he won the overall ranking of the Settimana Internazionale and the German race around Cologne

Also in 2012, Bárta won his first national elite title, in the individual time trial . Five more time trial titles followed by 2017, and in 2013 he was also road champion.

Bárta competed at the Olympic Games twice - in 2012 and 2016 . In 2012 in London he finished 75th in the road race, in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro he did not finish the race.
