Michael Guldhammer

Michael Guldhammer (born December 14, 1961 in Vejle ) is a former Danish cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

He started cycling in 1971 when his father, who wanted to encourage him to exercise, registered him in a cycling club. Guldhammer became Danish champion in the amateur road race in 1989 after he had already become runner-up the year before . In the following three years he stood on the podium at the championships in the individual time trial , but without winning the title. He turned down offers to become a professional cyclist , he wanted to continue doing his job and racing. Guldhammer started for the Vejle CK club . In 1989 he won the traditional Roskilde race. In 2010 he founded a cycling team and became the sports manager of Team TreFor .

Professional

Guldhammer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter . After his career he worked as a caretaker at a vocational school .

His two sons Rasmus and Thomas also became cyclists. She and Michael started together for a while in races in the Danish A-Class.
