Bílkove Humence (until 1927 in Slovak "Bilka Humenec"; in Hungarian Bilkaudvar ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 205 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Senica , a district of Trnavský kraj .

geography

The village is located in the northeast of the Záhorská nížina lowlands by the Rudava stream . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 243  m nm and is 23 kilometers from Senica and 27 kilometers from Malacky .

Neighboring communities are Borský Mikuláš in the north and northeast, Záhorie (military district) in the east and south, and Lakšárska Nová Ves in the southwest and west.

Church in Bílkove Humence

In 1828 the settlement had 19 houses and 288 inhabitants, whose main sources of income were agriculture and forestry. Bílkove Humence has only existed as an independent municipality since 1914 and was named after the surname Bilka, which is common in the local population .

The place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia. In 1951 the municipality had to cede part of the municipality to the Záhorie military area.

According to the 2011 census, Bílkove Humence had 221 inhabitants, of which 213 were Slovaks and one Croat and one Czech. Six residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity. 188 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, four residents of the Evangelical Church AB and one resident of the Greek Catholic Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 17 residents had no denomination and ten residents had no denomination.
