Štefanov (until 1948 Stepanov - until 1927 Ščepanov ; Hungarian Csépánfalva or older Stephano ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with a population of 1,646 (December 31, 2019) and is part of the Senica District , part of the kraj Trnavský .
geography
The village is located at the meeting point of the Záhorská nížina lowlands and the Chvojnická pahorkatina hills by the Štefanovský creek in the traditional Záhorie landscape . The center of the village is at an altitude of 205 m nm and is 12 kilometers from Senica .
history
Štefanov was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1392 in a donation document. In 1828 there are 269 houses and 1,884 inhabitants.
1945–2003 there was oil production in the municipality.
