Rybky

Rybky (Hungarian Halasd - until 1907 Ribek , German Ribke ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 419 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Senica , a district of Trnavský kraj .

The municipality is located in the north-eastern part of the Záhorská nížina lowlands at the transition to the Myjavská pahorkatina hills in the Pasecký potok valley . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 216 m nm and is four kilometers from Senica .

Neighboring municipalities are Rohov in the north, Rovensko in the east, Senica in the south, Smrdáky in the west and Oreské in the northwest.

history

Rybky was first mentioned in writing as Rypka in 1394 and was then part of the Branč Castle estate . In 1452 Rybky had a total of 17 portals . After the land register of 1617, the manor had their ponds in the place. In 1828 there were 58 houses and 400 inhabitants.

The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia.

population

According to the 2011 census, 452 residents lived in Rybky, of which 446 were Slovaks and one Serb and one Czech. Four residents did not give any information about their ethnicity. 355 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 48 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident to the Congregational Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 37 residents had no denomination and eight residents had no denomination.
