Sekule (German Sekeln , Hungarian Székelyfalva - until 1882 Szekula ) is a municipality in Kraj Trnava in western Slovakia .
It is located in the Záhorie region, east of the border triangle Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria , at the confluence of the March , Myjava and Thaya rivers , 32 km from Senica and 55 km from Bratislava . In addition to the main town, the municipality also included the cadastral municipality of Kameň , but since June 11, 2007 this has no longer had an official character.
It was first mentioned in writing in 1402 as Boldogazzonfalva and belonged to the estate of Scharfenstein Castle . It used to be inhabited by Szeklern people who served as border guards here.
