Hradište pod Vrátnom (until 1927 only "Hradište"; German Hradisch , Hungarian Harádics - until 1907 Hradist ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 687 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Senica District of, a circle kraj Trnavský heard .
geography
The municipality is located between the hilly Myjavská pahorkatina in the north and the Little Carpathians in the south on the Brezovský potok brook in the Myjava catchment area . The center of the village is at an altitude of 244 m nm and is 15 kilometers from Senica .
Neighboring municipalities are Prietrž and Bukovec in the north, Brezová pod Bradlom in the northeast and east, Dobrá Voda in the southeast, Naháč in the south, Jablonica in the southwest and Osuské in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1262 as Haradicha and stood at the northern end of the Brezová Pass, which was important in the Middle Ages. First the village belonged to the estate of the castle in today's Hlohovec , then the Dobrá Voda castle . In the 18th century the inhabitants were employed as burners, lime burners and oil pressers. In 1828 there were 151 houses and 1059 inhabitants.
The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia.
population
According to the 2011 census, there were 676 residents in Hradište pod Vrátnom, including 627 Slovaks, ten Czechs, seven Roma and four Magyars. Two residents indicated a different ethnic group and 26 residents gave no information in this regard. 550 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 16 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Greek Catholic Church and the Reformed Church. 82 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 25 inhabitants was not determined.
