Šajdíkove Humence is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1112 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Senica , a district of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Záhorská nížina lowland in the traditional Záhorie landscape and south of the Myjava . The municipal area is flat and slightly hilly and largely covered by mixed forests. The center of the village is at an altitude of 190 m nm and is eleven kilometers from Senica .
There is a sulphurous spring near the place.
Neighboring municipalities are Dojč in the north, Senica in the northeast, Hlboké in the east (separates the municipality from the Záhorie military area by a narrow strip) and Borský Mikuláš (district Borský Peter) in the south and west.
history
The municipality was established in 1926 after it was separated from the municipality of Borský Peter (today part of Borský Mikuláš).
In 2012, the first part of a 220 hectare golf course was opened east of the village, which today includes two 18-hole golf courses.
population
According to the 2011 census, 1082 inhabitants lived in Šajdíkove Humence, of which 1041 were Slovaks, nine Czechs and one Croat, one Moravian and one Russian; two residents were of a different ethnicity. 27 residents gave no answer. 899 residents belonged to the Roman Catholic Church, 29 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, three residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident each to the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Apostolic Church, the Brethren Church, the Greek Catholic Church, the Congregational Church, the orthodox church; one resident was of a different denomination. 73 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 71 inhabitants was not determined.
