Rovensko (German Rabenskahof , Hungarian Berencsróna - until 1907 Rovenszkó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 438 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Senica , a district of the Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located at the transition between the hilly Myjavská pahorkatina and Chvojnická pahorkatina , not far from the White Carpathians . The Rovenský potok flows through Rovensko . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 212 m nm and is four and a half kilometers from Senica .
Neighboring municipalities are Častkov in the north, Sobotište in the northeast and east, Senica in the south, Rybky in the west and Rohov in the northwest.
history
Rovensko was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1439, at that time as part of the estate of the Korlátka Castle , from the 16th century of the Branč Castle . After 1772 the village was successively owned by the families Apponyi , Bossányi , Révay , Motešický , Petky , Jaszenák , Majthényi and finally Windisch-Graetz (in 1846).
Viticulture was widespread in the 18th century, after which the inhabitants were almost exclusively employed in agriculture. In 1752 there were 76 households in Rovensko, in 1843 there were 376 Catholics, 200 Evangelicals and 34 Jews.
The place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 414 people lived in Rovensko, of which 403 were Slovaks, three Czechs and two Moravians. Six residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity. 225 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church and 120 residents to the Evangelical Church AB; four residents professed a different denomination. 46 residents had no denomination and 19 residents had no denomination.
