Senica ( German Senitz , also Markt Senitz , Hungarian Szenice - until 1907 Szenic ) is the largest city in the district of the same name and an economic center in northern western Slovakia . It is located on the Teplica before it flows into the Myjava and on the Trnava – Kúty railway line .
history
The place was mentioned for the first time as Scynte in 1217 and was settled as early as the Bronze Age. In the 16th century some German Habaners came to the place.
Attractions
There are 3 forts in the village, a Catholic and a Protestant church as well as a synagogue from 1666.

Senica consists of the 4 parts of the municipality:
- Čáčov (incorporated in 1971),
- Kunov (incorporated in 1976),
- Senica
- and Sotina (incorporated in 1944).
