The Teplica (formerly also Vrbovec or Malina ) is a right tributary of the Myjava in the Czech Republic and Slovakia .

geography

The Teplica rises south of Kuželov in the White Carpathians . Its source is at the northwestern foot of the Stráň ( 550  m ) on the U Tří Kamenu border pass in the Czech Republic . The Teplica initially flows to the northeast, then flows around the Stráň in a clockwise direction, and after six kilometers in Zimácí on the Welka Pass , it reaches Slovakia in a south-westerly direction . On their further course are Šance , Miechnovci, Vrbovce , Žurkov Mlyn, Ježov Mlyn, Chodúrovci, Mezný Mlyn, Janíkovci, Javorec, Šiškovci, Filipkovci and Valcha. Here the Teplica turns first in a southerly, later again in a southwesterly direction through the Chvojnická pahorkatina. Via Krč, Sobotište , Halabrinovci, Kunov, Sotina, Senica and Čáčov, the Teplica finally reaches the Myjava in the Myjavská niva . Four kilometers southwest of the city center, the Teplica flows into the Myjava at Senica nad Myjavou station . 28 km of their course are on Slovak territory.

Below Sobotište, the Teplica is dammed near Halabrinovci in the Kunov reservoir.
