Kuklov (German Kug [e] lhof or Kuchelhof , Hungarian Kukló ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 795 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Senica , a district of Trnavský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the traditional Záhorie landscape , geomorphologically in the Záhorská nížina lowland on the left bank of the Myjava , near the Czech border. The center of the village is at an altitude of 162 m nm and is seven kilometers from Šaštín-Stráže , 25 kilometers from Senica and 69 kilometers from Bratislava .
Neighboring municipalities are Čáry in the north, Šaštín-Stráže in the east, Borský Svätý Jur in the south and Kúty in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1394 as Kyklew and was created on an old trade route from Pressburg to Hollitsch . The village was owned by the Counts of St. Georgen and Bösing, and in the 16th century the estates of the Ostrý Kameň and Šaštín castles and the families of Csobor and Bakics . In 1720 there was a mill and 39 taxpayers, 20 of them from the lower nobility; In 1828 there were 238 houses and 1704 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the place in Pressburg County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 797 people lived in Kuklov, including 744 Slovaks, nine Roma, three Czechs and one Ukrainian; one resident was of a different ethnicity. 39 residents gave no answer. 675 residents belonged to the Roman Catholic Church, eight residents to the Old Catholic Church, seven residents to the Evangelical Church AB, five residents to the Congregational Church and one resident each to the Greek Catholic Church and one to the Orthodox Church. 30 residents had no denomination and 101 residents had no denomination.

Buildings
- Roman Catholic St. Stephen's Church with Stations of the Cross, the core dates back to the 14th century, but received today's classicistic appearance in the late 18th century
