Dobrá Voda (German Gutwasser or Guttenstein , Hungarian Jókő , Latin Bona Aqua ) is a municipality in western Slovakia .
location
It is located in the Little Carpathians in a small basin on the bank of the Blava River and is about 28 km from Trnava .
history
The history of the place is connected with Guttenstein Castle. A mountain was mentioned in 1262 under the name mons Dobravada . The castle was built around 1300 and served as a border fortress between the Kingdom of Hungary and the Kingdom of Bohemia , on the "Bohemian Road". The village developed from a settlement under the castle and was first mentioned in 1394. 1467 it received from Matthias Corvinus the market law and became a market town levied.
Until 1918 the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary , after which it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
